TOUR OVERVIEW

Ceramics Painting Adventure in China

An exclusive artistic journey with Australian artist David Reid

Open to all! No prior art experience needed - just bring your curiosity.

Begin your adventure in vibrant Shanghai, where we explore the sights before boarding a high-speed train to Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, the legendary "China of China."

This is the birthplace of the iconic blue and white porcelain tradition, dating back to 1368 during the Ming Dynasty.

For 8 unforgettable days, immerse yourself in this ancient art form. You’ll paint your own porcelain pieces, explore historic kilns, visit world-class museums, and enjoy fabulous meals, all under the expert guidance of David Reid.

David has lived and painted in China for over 20 years, splitting his time between Shanghai and Jingdezhen. With his insider knowledge, you’ll enjoy seamless access to top studios, luxury accommodation, and a charming walkable neighbourhood at the heart of Jingdezhen’s artistic community.

Your creative sessions will take place at the Hutian Studio, led by Zack Chan, senior lecturer at Jingdezhen Ceramic University. With a dedicated team of local experts, you’ll be fully supported whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned art lover.

Along the way, we’ll also take curated side trips, including a visit to the historic Yaoli Mountains where the original porcelain clay has been mined for centuries.

"Thank you so much for organising the trip - it really was incredible and so unique. No trip would have been anything like it without your guidance and contacts and good humour. I'm so pleased I got to come and see your world."

-- Alex (Jingdezhen, April 2025)
